If you are considering a new construction project or renovation, keep in mind that a building permit and/or zoning permit is required for many different types of home construction and remodeling. The following is a list of common items that require permits.

- Window, Door & Siding Replacement
- Indoor remodeling Projects
- Exterior Remodeling Projects
- Outdoor Remodeling Projects
- Electrical Service Upgrades
- Swimming Pools
- Decks and Porches
- Reroofing of Existing Structure
- Attached or Detached Garages
- Fences
- Signs
- Storage Sheds
- Air Conditioning and Furnace Unit Installations
- Hot Tub Installations
- Demolition of a Structure
- Movement of a Structure from one lot to another
Even if a project does not require a permit, residents and contractors must comply with the local Zoning Ordinance and State Uniform Dwelling Code & Commercial Building Codes & Regulations. Some projects require inspections by the Village of Rosendale Building Inspector. It is your responsibility to contact the Building Inspector if you are not sure of Village or State Requirements.
