The Village of Rosendale Police Department provides a free vacation watch service to residents of the Village. You can request a vacation watch if you expect to be away from home for an extended period of time. During a vacation watch, patrol officers periodically stop and check on your home. Officers may walk around the outside of your home to see if there has been any forced entry or damage. Although this is not a guarantee that your home will not be damaged or burglarized, it gives you some added protection. We encourage you to make arrangements with a family member, friend or neighbor to also check on your home.
Request a vacation watch by calling the Rosendale Police Department at 872-5050 or print out form below and send back or drop off at the Rosendale Police Department
Be ready to provide the following information when you call:
- Name and address
- When you are departing/returning
- Address and/or phone where you can be contacted while away
- Name, address, vehicle information and phone number of person watching your home , if any.
- Are any lights being left on?
- Are any lights on timers?
- Is your home alarmed?
- Do you have any fences? Location of fences?
- Are any pets being left at home?
- Are curtains/blinds being left open or closed?
- Did you stop mail/newspapers?
- Any vehicles left at residence?
- Any additional information that you feel is pertinent
